Snap

So, the more eagle eyed readers out there may have noticed this blog has got a new URL. I've also managed to break my finger, which is making it quite difficult to type. Luckily, my Mac has got dictation built into it so I'm still able to write. In a manner of speaking.

Bariloche is a really beautiful town. Last time I left you I was just enjoying the sunset and chilling out with the other people here at the hostel. Unfortunately that evening I fell off my bed and snapped my middle finger clean in half. The local hospital was a bit abandoned at two in the morning, and of course nobody spoke English. Despite this, a friendly enough nurse manage to bandage up my finger and get across that I should see another doctor within the next few days.

Middle finger

So, I’m now back in BA (despite LAN doing it’s best to stop me) thanks to an overzealous security guard and a frankly paranoid check in attendant. Headed off to hospital today and had a cast put on. Looks like I'm going to have this on for the next 45 days, so perhaps I’m going to have to learn how to write with my left hand. According to the doctor here, it’s a third-degree fracture and when she took off the original bandage, well, my finger is now at a very strange angle. If I leave the cast on, there should only be a small chance that I'll need surgery. Here's hoping.

Dictation still has a long way to go before this is an easy way to write stuff down, so forgive me for making this a short post today.  I'm honestly not sure what I'm going to do now. Perhaps I'll wait around here for a little bit longer until my finger gets better, maybe I can use this opportunity to study some Spanish, it really is very awful.

Thanks for reading, I'll do my best to come up with interesting things to say. Best wishes to all.

Andy
